Walmart Canada’s associates had a busy week spending time with Canadian Champions and learning more about the impact their fundraising and sponsorship has on sick and injured children while attending Children’s Hospitals Week in Orlando.
Walmart Canada Associates’ week began at the Walmart Canada Welcome Reception where associates in attendance got to spend time getting to know the Canadian Champions while they collected each of the twelve Champions favourite “treats.” It was a fun way for the Champions to express their appreciation of Walmart Canada’s Children’s Hospitals Week sponsorship. Popcorn, bubble gum and more were shared by all!

Walmart Canada was also celebrated alongside all Canadian Children’s Hospitals Week sponsors at the Canadian Welcome Dinner. This event brought together Canadian sponsors, hospital members, as well as Champions and their families. The dinner was filled with speeches, a video tribute from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and even a performance by Champion child Jean-Gilles! Walmart Associates also had the honour of medaling each Champion!

Walmart’s $1 Billion celebration continued at the Opening General Session! Associates from across North America were welcomed on stage to have their remarkable achievement acknowledged by all attendees. We are so grateful for Walmart’s historic support of children’s hospitals across North America!

Walmart associates also heard from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals President & CEO, John Lauck, as well as Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundation President & CEO, Mark Hierlihy, at the Walmart Thank You Dinner. Their tremendous support as both sponsor of Children’s Hospitals Week and their year-round fundraising was celebrated! John Schneider and Champion Joey also stopped by!
