Be Bold and Make a Statement to Transform Today.

While Dance Marathon may be a year long movement, each fall, Dance Marathon programs benefiting UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital host fundraising push days to help raise funds and awareness for their local CMN hospital. The programs select a 26.2 hour time span and challenge their campuses to raise more funds than ever before. Over three different spans of 26.2 hours, Dance Marathon at the University of Florida, Dance Marathon at Florida State University, and OwlThon at Florida Atlantic University had a collective mission:

Be Bold and Make a Statement to Transform Today

See below recap from the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital blog:

“On October 23-24, Dance Marathon at UF set a goal to raise $600,000 on their fifth annual Transform Today. They raised $626,602.22 in 26.2 hours – the most amount fundraised in 26.2 hours across Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Miracle Network Dance Marathon programs in the U.S. and Canada.

On November 13th and 14th Dance Marathon at FSU  dedicated their fundraising efforts for 26.2 hours to Marshal Fisher, a CMN Ambassador who fought a fierce battle with pediatric cancer until May 2018. During Marshal’s Statement they aimed to raise $335,000 in honor of the 335 children who, like Marshal, will be diagnosed with osteosarcoma this year. Marshal’s mom was able to help them celebrate an incredible $364,815.46 in his honor.

On November 14-15, OwlThon at FAU launched their 4th annual Be Bold Push Day with a goal of $40,000 and  surpassed their goal with an impressive $42,293.87—a 30% increase over their last fundraising push day!

Together, these extraordinary student leaders raised $1,033,711.55 in a collective 26.2 hours—and they’re just getting started as they continue raising funds and awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital through the spring. “
